Privacy Policy
SnippetCue is designed to keep your snippets and keyboard activity on your device.
Summary
- No account and no app-operated backend or cloud-sync service.
- No advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, or sale of personal information.
- No off-device or developer transmission of snippets, clipboard content, keystrokes, or surrounding text from the app.
- Snippet content is stored locally on your device.
Local app data
SnippetCue stores snippets, folders, settings, selection state, entitlement state, and Trash records locally. The app and keyboard use an Apple App Group on the same device to exchange the selected snippet, effective settings, bounded status information, and non-content coordination metadata.
The app does not keep a general keystroke history, surrounding host-field text, or playback position. The keyboard writes only the limited local records needed for explicit Clipboard transactions, keyboard setup status, and bounded recent-use events.
Full Access and Clipboard
Starter Snippets remain available without Full Access. Full Access allows the containing app and keyboard to exchange personal snippets and status through the local App Group. Granting Full Access does not cause SnippetCue to send snippets or typing activity to the developer or an app-operated server.
SnippetCue does not monitor the clipboard. A released Clipboard feature may read plain text only after you explicitly activate Apple’s system Paste control. A version without that feature does not read clipboard content. This disclosure will be updated to the single shipped behavior before release.
Exports, backups, Trash, and deletion
A library export is unencrypted, human-readable JSON. You choose where to save or share it through the system interface. After export, that copy is outside SnippetCue’s control and is handled by the storage or sharing provider you select.
Device or system backups may include local app data according to your settings. Uninstalling normally removes the app and App Group containers from the device, but copies already present in backups remain subject to your backup settings and provider.
Deleted items are eligible for recovery from Trash for exactly 30 days. After that period they are no longer shown or restorable and are purged when the containing app next launches or returns to the foreground. Permanent Delete and Empty Trash remove the applicable local records after the operation succeeds; pre-existing backup copies remain outside the app’s control.
Purchases
The optional Pro purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. SnippetCue uses Apple-verified purchase information to determine the local Pro entitlement. Payment credentials are not provided to the developer through the app.
Support correspondence
SnippetCue does not transmit support data from the app. The Support page opens a user-initiated email to support@snippetcue.com in your mail app without automatically adding diagnostics or content.
If you send email, your mail provider transmits your email address, message, and any attachment you deliberately add. That correspondence is used to respond, troubleshoot the issue you report, maintain reasonable support continuity, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. It is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and then deleted. You may request deletion by emailing the same address, subject to records that must be retained by law.
Static website delivery
This website has no account, form, chat, advertising, analytics, tracking pixel, or third-party script. Its source sets no cookies. The hosting service necessarily receives technical request data such as an IP address, browser identifier, requested URL, timestamp, and security signals to deliver and protect the site, and may retain limited operational or security logs under its policies. SnippetCue does not use those logs to profile visitors or combine them with app activity.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when SnippetCue’s shipped behavior or legal requirements change. The effective date above will change when the policy changes. The policy will be re-audited against the final release binary and after the Clipboard feature gate resolves.
Questions or privacy requests may be sent to support@snippetcue.com.
